Consumer Narrative
I mailed a letter disputing inaccurate and/or incomplete information contained in consumer reports compiled, maintained, and published by Transunion allegedly concerning the following tradelines. As per USPS records, they received my dispute letter on XX/XX/XXXX. Accordingly, as per the FCRA, they were required to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation and delete the disputed information as I requested before the end of the 30 day period on the date on which you received my dispute letter. MY REQUEST WAS NOT A VERIFICATION FOR PROOF OF MY MAILING ADDRESS. MY REQUEST WAS A VALIDATION MADE PURSUANT TO 15 USC 1692G. The response was due on or before XX/XX/XXXX. Instead of sending me a response letter with the results of your investigation of the disputed information, they mailed me a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX stating the information disputed does not currently appear on my Transunion credit report. Yet, they failed to provide an updated report. Clearly, they have willfully failed to delete the disputed information as I have requested. They willfully failed to conduct a reasonable investigation. The failure to do so is a direct FCRA violation. As per the FCRA, they are liable to me for damages for your misconduct. You are commanded to send a check in the amount of {$1000.00} payable to XXXX XXXX. Be advised, this not another dispute or opportunity for you to reinvestigate. The allowable period to conduct a reinvestigation has expired and shall not be extended by law. Within 14 days, I demand they delete the disputed information as requested, send an updated copy of my consumer file, and send me the {$1000.00} check to my mailing address above.
