Oct/Nov 2023 : MR. Cooper sent me an email notice asking me to check online message regarding my monthly payment for the 30-year mortgage I have in XXXX or XXXX timeframe. The message was about increased escrow ammount due to increased tax payment. XXXX : because the company sent me so many emails and tried to call me to notify me about the big data breach incident they had, or ask me to refinance my mortgage for their marketing effort, I did not take it serious that I recevied an email to check online. In addition, at the time, I forgot my MR. Cooper login info, so I did not check my online message informing me escrow account was increased. XXXX : I noticed my credit score was decreased from over XXXX to XXXX as notified by my credit card company, I checked and realized I was reported as mortgage past due. I called Mr. Cooper and learned that I didn't pay the escrow increase of {$150.00}. I have been paying my mortgage of $ 6229 monthly via my bank 's auto payment all these months. The unpaid amount is less than 2.5 % monthly fee I have been paying. I was furious! XXXX : I paid the escrow balance of {$310.00} on the phone and adjusted my monthly payment of mortgage to the increased ammount going forward. I also spoke to the company representative and expressed my shock and disapointment. The representative was very hostile and told me by definition I didn't make the payment. I confirmed that the company never called me or emailed me on the escrow change as aggressive as they did when they tried to market me about refi my mortgage. I also spoke to the manager, and was told that the company would correct my credit report. XXXX : My latest credit score is now only at XXXX. I have never missed a credit card or mortgage payment. this is outrageous! If Mr. Cooper spent more time on their IT management, they would not have had the data breach incidence and I would less likely to skip their email. In addition, Mr. Cooper called me way too agressive on refi my mortgage that I was afraid to pick up any call from them nor call them. I wish Mr. Cooper to spend more investment on training as well. If I have a choice, I would not have had my loan be serviced by Mr. Cooper. They do nothing to protect consumer 's interest.
