I received a Vanilla gift card with a balance of {$500.00}. I have been unable to use this card since receiving it in late XXXX as the 3 digit security code had been scratched off. My understanding is that is a typical scam and others are currently suing regarding this issue and the lack of protections. I started a claim through their process on XX/XX/2024. I was told by customer service to send in all relevant documentation available which I did on XX/XX/2024. I instructed the customer service agent that I did not have a receipt ( as it was a gift ) and they told me that would be fine so long as I submitted everything else ( ID, Visa Card, and packaging ). I was told to wait 30 days. After 30 days of no update I called again in early XXXX. It was " escalated '' and I would receive an update within 7 days. After more than 3 weeks I called again. I was told it would be " escalated '' again and I'd receive a response within 45-90 days. I just want my funds. I have wasted countless hours trying to navigate their customer service phone tree and calling them back time and time again.
