On XX/XX/XXXX, My mother found a home listing from a company named XXXX XXXX for a home in my area. We spoke with the landlord of the place and he was on the phone with me for hours guiding me through a tour of the home virtually. he talked me through how to sign up for a company named XXXX and told me that he just wanted someone that would take care of his home since he travels in and out of the states. He told me the deposit is {$500.00} and then i pay {$1300.00} for the first months rent and that makes the rent for XXXX free. He said we pay through chime because we have to have a signed lease and deposit before we can gain access to the resident portal for monthly rent payments. We were sent the lease via email and signed it. The landlord also sent me a copy of his ID and said he would meet me at the property at XXXX to give me a receipt and the keys. He called XXXX XXXX and then proceeded to tell me i had to pay a {$250.00} administration fee before he could have me in the system. After it was paid the call randomly ended and he text me saying " Im on my way to the property '' and never showed up. I waited for hours in my car with my XXXX year old for him to show and he did not. Both numbers he called and text from had been disconnected. After this happened I realized I was scammed. My mother who was there with me the whole time called XXXX XXXX and I called the police. An agent from XXXX XXXX made my mom aware that we are victims of a scam and that they are unaware of who the guy is that said he was the landlord. They reported the scam and told me to have my bank call their treasury department. I filed a police report and called chime to dispute the transfer transactions that were made with all evidence I had including text messages, screenshots, a copy of the fake lease, The Id the guy sent me, the emails, the phone numbers used and offered written statements by 2 witnesses, and an email given to me by XXXX XXXX so they can provide information proving the leaser is invalid and i was scammed. Chime Denied my dispute and refused to give me and reason why. Two of their agents hung up on me when i was asking for my claim to be appealed and reopened. They showed no sympathy and sent me a second denial letter in my email. My dispute decision was made within 2 days. No proper investigation was done and i don't believe My supporting documents were evaluated properly. I should not have been denied. I have all the evidence they need and more. Chime did not support me or carefully investigate. I lost {$2000.00}.
