XXXX XXXX who provides online, short term loans through their sister company DBA Opploans continues to falsely report a balance due on an old account. Further, the balance continues to grow even though the account was marked as charge off. I have disputed this account numerous times over the years via the credit bureaus dispute centers. Each time, XXXX/Opploans failed to properly validate the debt directly with me and overall failed to adequately respond to the disputes time and time again. However, XXXX/Opploans continues to update the credit bureaus stating the data reported is correct and they continue to report a growing balance on a closed account. An account can not be closed/charged off and continue to grow in balance and report to credit bureaus as if it were an active and open loan. Per FDCPA and FCRA regulations, XXXX/Opploans have failed to properly respond to disputes and failed to properly and timely validate an allegedly owed debt. Per regulations, the debt must be marked as unenforceable and uncollectible, furthermore any and all collection efforts or attempts must end immediately and the account and data must be removed from the credit bureaus. Failure to not complete these steps is in violation of Federal guidelines. I request that XXXX/Opploans promptly remove the falsely and unverified data from my credit reports, mark the account within their system as unendurable and uncollectible, and immediately end any/all collection efforts that may be in place. Failure to do so could be construed as fraudulent activity and/or harassment.
