Bought a Vanilla Gift Card {$500.00} at the beginning of XX/XX/XXXX. It was a gift to my daughter for xmas XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX, my daughter opens her card packaging and attempts to register/use the card for an online purchase. The balance of the card read {$0.00}. The card was drained 2 weeks earlier at a food store on the other side of the continent. Filed a police report. Filed a complaint with VanillaGift. We've had a case number # XXXX for months. The resolution date was XXXX XXXX after XX/XX/XXXX we started calling their XXXX call center.. week after week they kept telling us 2 days the card will be reactivated.. 4 days the card will be reactivated.. 3 days the card will be reactivated. Meanwhile time is ticking away. They're buying time. Today XX/XX/XXXX, I check the case on the website it now says Resolution date XX/XX/XXXX ... another 4 months! I am 'now " aware of the widespread scam of draining these particular 'vanilla gift ' cards due to their lax security features. And I am aware 'Vanilla Gift ' has fought lawsuits to refuse to fix their issues. And I am aware 'Vanilla Gift ' is reknown for not reimbursing customers who have been victimized by their poor security measures. {$500.00}! That is alot of money to me and my daughter.. XXXX ruined.. and runaround from this horrendous company selling known defective products and refusing to fix or reimburse their own failures... sickening.
