I opened a chime account and I sent money from a business account but it does not count as a employee direct deposit even if it's from a business account and I have a government check with all my information as well as the government 's information and they told me it doesn't matter I can only do direct deposit but the company I'm getting government checks from does not provide direct deposit neither does my job and I can't use anything on this app unless I have a direct deposit only even though a direct deposit is money that is directly deposited into a account according to the dictionary it does not say from an employer only. And when I called they told me there's absolutely nothing they can do and that I should just cancel my card and find a new bank because self-employed people are not allowed to use the app even though I have an employer that sends me my checks through XXXX XXXX account that should count as a deposit when you get it every month from an employers registered business account. I see that as a very big issue not everyone or every job offers or can get direct deposit only in order to set up your account and even to get a savings account I need direct deposit I can't even open a savings account on chime only a checking only and you can't use anything else on the app.. I am going to contact a lawyer in everyone else that is ran into any problem should too I got told by a friend lawyer that it is a perfect case.
