I reviewed my most recent credit report from all three CRA 's ( insert Credit NAme ) and I noticed inquiries that does not belong to me. After reaching out to the creditor I was advised they did not have a record on file of me ever applying for credit with their company. The creditor advised me to contact the CRA to have the inquiry disputed and investigated as they do not have the ability to do so. After contacting the CRA I was met with push-back even though I expressed the inquiries in question did not belong to me and the creditor agreed the inquiries are not attached to any file or application they have with my personal accurate information. Per 15 USC 1681b ( c ) Furnishing reports in connection with credit or insurance transactions that are not initiated by consumer ( 3 ) Information regarding inquiries ; Except as provided in section 15 USC 1681g ( a ) ( 5 ) of this title, a consumer reporting agency shall not furnish to any person a record of inquiries in connection with a credit or insurance transaction that is not initiated by a consumer.
