Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX, I lodged a complaint against Experian, XXXX, and XXXX. The reason behind this action stemmed from my individual disputes with each of these credit bureaus in XX/XX/XXXX. At that time, I had informed them that I had fallen victim to identity theft that I noticed after being released from prison. Upon reviewing my credit reports, I noticed several items that were inaccurately attributed to me. Despite submitting my police report, identity theft report, and government-issued identification to support my claim, I did not receive any response from the credit bureaus. As a result of their lack of communication and action, on XX/XX/XXXX, I escalated the matter by filing a complaint with you. In my complaint, I requested that the credit bureaus provide evidence of their investigation into the disputed items. I also demanded that they either remove the erroneous entries from my credit report as mandated by law ( which I referenced in my complaint ) or substantiate the validity of these accounts by presenting supporting documents such as contracts or signatures within a specified timeframe of 15 days. While some deletions were observed on my credit report subsequently, I did not receive any formal response from the credit bureaus regarding the resolution of the dispute. On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted another complaint against these three companies requesting once again the deletion of the disputed items within four days or proof be provided within 15 days. Despite noticing some deletions, there was still no response, and some items remained. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX responded to the original complaint from XX/XX/XXXX. They stated that they had contacted the furnisher of each disputed item, including XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), First Premier, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and disputed inquiries and stated that these items were verified as being mine but unlike my XXXX prior requests and law states have not provided any proof regarding their investigation or how they were able to verify this debt. The lack of response on these remaining items could be a cause for concern and may require further follow-up with XXXX or the respective companies involved. Failure to do this will leave me no choice but to take legal action because they are suppose to verify each item reported prior to reporting, and I have the right to have each item validated and receive proof of each validation.
