On XX/XX/XXXX I placed an order for a Sony camera that cost {$4100.00} I was told it would ship on XX/XX/XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX i messaged Dell asking them to confirm shipping date because i was going to be out of town and wanted to make sure it was still expected to ship on XX/XX/XXXX. The dell customer service team confirmed that. On XXXX XXXX XXXX I received and email telling me that the package shipped. I was out of town at this time but figured given the value of the item it would never be just dropped without a signature or handing it to a person at the residence. On XX/XX/XXXX I received an email saying the package had been delivered, yet I had no ring on my door bell showing someone tried to deliver a package. I then looked at my ring camera and seen no package in the view of the camera. So late XX/XX/XXXX I then emailed Dell asking them for some information and telling them that the package shipped way early and why it wouldnt require a signature. Dell confirmed it shipped and that it didnt require a signature for delivery and its XXXX ( the shippers ) choice if they require a signature or not. I returned home the following day to see I had no package from XXXX or Dell. I then emailed Dell and XXXX about this and they both blamed the other for why it would ship early and without a signature for a XXXX XXXX item. I then made contact with my credit card provider asking them what protections I have and they gave me a very generic response and told me to get with Dell about it and there is nothing they can do. Basically I purchased a {$4100.00} camera from Dell.com using my Dell issued credit card. The item shipped XXXX XXXX early and was shipped without signature confirmation. I never received the item and have been told its my fault and to pay the {$4100.00} for an item I never received. To make matters worse I had to purchase the same camera from another company. Spent XXXX XXXX on it and that other company shipped with signature required. The other company shipped it with signature and told me that ALL items over {$500.00} should have a signature required due to the fair credit billing act.
