American Express sent me two 1099-XXXX forms XXXX I have no clue why they are saying I made " other income. '' I tried chatting with a representative who told me they can not help and I need to call. I called the number quite literally listed on the 1099, and the Rep didn't know what a 1099 is and gave me a phone number for a different department ( not correct either ). Next I chat with a rep again trynig to ask for the correct number, and I'm told there is no number and no one that can answer my questions. How is that possible? Someone from American Express had to issue the 1099, so how are they not able to answer any questions about it? They're sending me from one person to another, wasting tons of my time, just to tell me there's no help that can be provided. Completely unfair and pure insanity.
