We have now had to deal with this account twice. Mountain America sold this debt to XXXX collections at which time we did a pay for delete through bonneville and the account was satisfied ( we have documentation of this ). Mountain America removed it from my credit in XXXX and then reapplied it to my credit in XXXX, even though they had sold the debt to XXXX and no longer owned the debt at all. It is still appearing on my credit which the account was initially from XXXX ( so an eight year old charge off ). We launched an investigation with mountain America and the representative I worked with ( XXXX ) even stated that there was an error with this account and they were working on it. We were later informed that they decided the information is correct even with the pay for delete letter we sent them. No actual explanation as to how they came to this decision. We would like this item removed permanently from my credit as soon as possible as this is impacting my credit and messing with my home buying process.
