I opened a Capital One credit account through XXXX to help build my credit. I made my security deposit & received my card. I use it occasionally just to help build my credit. On XX/XX/XXXX, I charged {$110.00} to my capital one account. I do these charges again to help build my credit & I then immediately pay the balance once the balance is posted on Capital Ones app. On XX/XX/XXXX, I made the payment of {$110.00} paying it off. Capital one without my knowledge set automatic payment to my account so by doing this I got charged against for {$110.00} which was set to be paid XX/XX/year> for automatic payment even though I had already paid this balance. Today when I checked my credit score, I noticed that my credit score dropped by XXXX points for being late / delinquent on a payment. When I called Capital one, they told me that my balance was {$0.00} & it said the same on the app. When I checked an alert of a " New account '' under the negative options for my credit, it stated that I owed a balance of {$110.00}, the amount if paid. When I contacted them they told me that it was my fault for not keeping track of my account & automatic payment method. They have destroyed my credit when I put trust in them to help me build it. I don't know what to do. They destroyed it for no reason at all other than they tried to steal money from me. I am considering contacting a consumer rights attorney and suing for damages
