I went to credit karma to check out my credit and they had a list of 5 credit cards in my account which were in their opinion, pretty sure I could obtain. XXXX XXXX gets money for every member they send which joins. I joined Prosper and they approved me for a {$1700.00} credit limit, send me an email and said while I was waiting to get the card I could use 1/2 of my credit limit. I did just that as I am off work on short term XXXX and have limited funds coming in. I bought my son some tennis shoes, and made a purchase on XXXX for a furnace filter, I went to XXXX online to try get my grand daughter valentines for her kindergarten class and the purchase was denied, an alert came over my phone, a fraud alert from the credit card company and asked me if I made a purchase at XXXX, I said Yes and they said OK, retry that purchase and that was it. i attempted to pay and it said card was now blocked, so I called the credit card company and he asked me if those purchases were mine and I said yes and he reopened my account and said just stay away from XXXX online and you should be good, so I went to XXXX and purchased items and my card was again blocked. I got up today and logged into the account and they lowered my credit limit by half. I would have never agreed to have the card with the lower credit limit but I was tricked!!! I started looking at the reviews on the site I joined from and many people were saying exactly what I just typed out here and even saying other things which have me scared to death now! I don't want my bank account compromised or my credit destroyed by this company. I spoke with this company today and the woman said my card was blocked multiple times for fraud, which was not fraud it was me however they never send additional messages asking me if I had made these purchases. She said the lowered credit limit is how much I can use until my card gets to me then they will raise it back up to {$1700.00}. This is just not acceptable business practices and there are a lot of people upset with this company.
