XX/XX/2024 : I have received an email from chime.com informing me that my account is to be opened and a credit card mailed. XX/XX/2024 : I was afraid someone may take a control over that account, so I followed instructions and opened the account using my email address and then downloaded the mobile app. The credit card has been mailed to my old address that I moved from more than 10 years ago. XX/XX/2024 : Called chime support and was able to close my account. I have received no confirmation who requested the account nor how they know my social security number. Whoever opened my account has my name, social security number, address ( although the old one ), and phone.
