I called at XXXX central time to Capital One customer XXXX spoke to representative in regards to my acct ending in XXXX. The account was closed months ago but I was still making monthly payments to pay off the debt. I made the last full payment of the total amount due of {$750.00}. Due date XX/XX/2024 payment was posted XX/XX/2024 and I still received a XXXX statement for {$10.00}. When I first got this Capital One card my interest rate was 15.9 %. I have a good credit score over 700 and I called multiple times in regards to lowering my interest with no luck. It went up to 28.15 % and I pay my bill on time and pay more than minimum amount sometimes paying balance in full. With no luck of getting the interest rate to drop I called and closed the account advising them I would pay my balance off. I spoke to a rep XXXX and he stated he could adjust the {$10.00} interest balance. I asked for a manager, XXXX Id # XXXX came on line and was pretty cold and stated she could adjust the balance because it was residual interest accumulated from balance due. This is so unfair to the consumers. If a consumer pays their balance in full before the due date their should be no residual interest charge. Many of these charges are automatic and can be manually overridden and adjusted. I want this refunded back to me. I know this complaint will not be resolved before XX/XX/XXXX so I will have no choice but to pay the balance to avoid any additional late fees etc.
