Over the course of 4 days someone attempted to open several credit cards in my name. I contacted the specific financial institutions as well as the credit bureaus showing the inquiries so I could have the fraud hard hits removed from my report. Transunion is a complete mess. Over the course of the process I've talked with 5 different people, each giving me a different process to follow to get the inquires removed. Ultimately they want me to file a report with identitytheft.gov ( which I have done ) and mail that report in along with either a copy of my drivers license or social security card. Sending either of those documents by mail seems to be grossly irresponsible! While the other bureaus allow for this information to be uploaded on their website, the function doesn't work for Transunion. To make matters worse, from the time I mail the information they say it can take up to 90 days to correct it! 90 days with my credit score being negatively impacted by a company being run like it's 1975. For such a critical service to be run so poorly seems to demonstrate a complete lack of leadership within the organization and equally a complete lack of regulatory oversight.
