Consumer Narrative
I have XXXX original Certificates of Deposit and I did not redeem them. I have an IRA and XXXX Certificates of Deposit that were in my Huntington bank account in XX/XX/XXXX but disappeared and were not in my account in XX/XX/XXXX. There were no interest statements for any of these accounts reported to me or the IRS. There was no reason for me to take out the IRA because I was not allowed to have an early withdrawal from that account without paying a penalty on it. I asked for a letter when these funds went to the State Unclaimed Property. I have talked, or have tried to talk to XXXX different banks about the situation but they have not given me proof that I indeed was the person that received the money. I was told by a bank representative that they saw a {$5000.00} withdrawal in XXXX but they could not find anything about the {$8000.00} or {$2000.00} Certificates of Deposit. Huntington Bank Administration have been telling me for the last year that they don't have records that are over XXXX XXXX XXXX. They will not prove to me that I got my money thus indicating to me that I will never see the money. They were not willing to indicate that they could see the {$5000.00} withdrawal from XXXX or that they have older than 7 year records. Bank administrators have been lying to me. They have records for the 4 Certificates of Deposit and the IRA and I need to see the signatures that I indeed got the money. I am the only signature on these accounts. A bank teller recently gave me the monthly bank statement reports of the IRA and XXXX more C.D. 'S certificates from XXXX. A bank manager suggested that I may have had the money taken because the Huntington Bank did not get a new address for me when I moved from XXXX XXXX to XXXX XXXX in the fall of XXXX. I want to know who got these funds which total {$28000.00}. That is a lot of money to me. It is either retirement money or it is money for my sons as I requested on the original papers. There is nothing in the papers stating that I needed to take my certificates of deposit out of the bank by a certain date. I get told by the administration of Huntington Bank that there were no records for any of the money because after 7 years the records are gone and I thus loose the money after 7 years. I never knew that a citizen of the United States could loss their money at a bank while they were very busy working to pay daily living expenses for their family.
