I have consolidated then refinanced my student loans from XXXX XXXX, then Discover, and now currently XXXX XXXX XXXX. In 2018, I refinanced the total amount from XXXX XXXX to Discover. In doing so, Discover was tasked with purchases those loans from Discover. According to the records on XXXX XXXX, Discover bought {$25000.00} of loan # XXXX and {$23000.00} of loan # XXXX in XX/XX/2018 ( {$48000.00} in total ). However, the total amount of loan # XXXX was {$29000.00} and the total amount of loan # XXXX was {$26000.00}, which equals {$56000.00}. In short, they never purchased the full loan amount of either, leaving {$7300.00} in an account I believed to be closed. Those loans have accrued interest, unknown to me, over the course of XXXX years, leaving me with nearly {$12000.00} owed in an account that I was told had been bought, refinanced, and closed. It's also of note that I never received any indication from XXXX XXXX that these loans were delinquent, which gave me no reason to suspect anything odd. Now, once I had discovered this, I reviewed my documents and came to the above conclusion. Then, I contacted XXXX XXXX. They told me that this was the fault of the lender that refinanced, Discover. I then called Discover, and have had an ongoing XXXX month case opened to look into this. The employee I contacted and have been working with has been very kind, but Discover makes it very difficult for him to help beyond sending it to another department. He believes that it was likely a typing error done by anther employee. However I've received no indication that this is being handled in any way by Discover. Please help me resolve this.
