Capital One first emailed me on XXXXXXXX about a new account opened in my name and with my email address, with also the phone number and account asserted to be verified. The information about the account described in the email included " XXXX XXXX ; XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ; Routing number XXXX ''. I tried calling the fraud telephone number, but no one picked up, there was no operator option, and there was no option for me to assert the account was fraudulently opened. I emailed Capital One at the email address identified on Capital One 's website to report fraudulent activity. Capital One sent an immediate auto-response, but never followed up. Capital One continues sending emails asking me to add funds to the account. I have repeatedly emailed the address to report the fraud, but still with no response or action from Capital One. I do not use Capital One. I did not request an account. And I do not want this fraudulently opened account to affect my credit score or result in any other form of financial or creditworthiness penalty. Please help me to close this account and remove all references if it in my financial and credit history.
