We sold our house and was buying a new one. We went through the whole process and got our final approval and the closing instructions but after we signed the paperwork the mortgage company did not send the funds and they called us the next day and told us that they could not go through with it due to our previous mortgage apparently was past due by 120 days. I had been advised once the lender had gotten the pay off on our mortgage to not make any payments as this would alter the payoff amount and they didnt want that to happen. We had already closed on our home and are now homeless and living from house to house with friends and relatives with our XXXX children
