I received a letter from Wells Fargo dated XX/XX/2023, 5 years after I closed my account with them. I called the number on the letter provided and it was a robot and was not Wells Fargo. I called the real number for Wells Fargo and got a hold of a customer Service person. When I called them to ask about the letter they stated the letter is legitimate and that I need to just deal with what they opened. They enrolled me in ID theft protection without my consent or authorization. They refused to close the account or provide any sense of remediation. When I explained to them that the number provided on the letter was fake and a robot, they stated I needed to call that number back to confirm all my information with the fake number.
