Approved for secured credit card with Discover. XXXX security deposit and XXXX credit limit. I paid early and consistently until I suffered a work injury that rendered me XXXX. My account balance was approx XXXX I asked why they could not apply deposit to pay off amount owed and even stated to keep the amount left out of the security deposit. I was told it had been charged off, however it was not until this year and the company charged me interest up until then. I did not use the card after the balance was XXXX approx, due to not having income but Discover decided to keep the XXXX security deposit, lied about the account being charged off and charged interest on my account. It's in collections now and right at XXXX owed. I also received reward checks every so often from Discover, money back on our purchases, I received a XXXX approx check back in XXXX, XX/XX/ approx from Discover and haven't used the card. Is this legal?
