XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Ohio, XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, PA XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX Equifax Information Services XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX Subject : Identity Theft and Unauthorized Accounts on My Credit Report Dear Sir/Madam, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate incident of identity theft that has affected my credit history. I recently discovered several accounts listed on my credit report which, upon further investigation, turned out to be fraudulent and unauthorized. Upon noticing some of these unauthorized accounts, I initially believed they were added by a credit repair company whom I had paid for assistance. Unfortunately, I later found out that these accounts were not legitimate and had been fraudulently created using my personal information. Upon contacting the business that was helping me with my credit, it became clear that it was not the company opening these accounts. As I delved deeper into the matter, I discovered that I had been a victim of identity theft for several years, which I had failed to notice. Initially, I presumed that the discrepancies in my accounts were due to errors or oversights on my part, and I was unsure how to rectify them. However, as I started to investigate, I realized that my identity had been stolen, and some of my accounts had been compromised. As soon as I became aware of this deception, I immediately ceased all usage of these accounts and took immediate action to rectify the situation. I went to the police station and filed an official report for identity theft, in addition to submitting an identity theft report with the FTC. Not only have unauthorized accounts been created/ opened. On top of this, I have been dealing with a slew of other problems regarding the theft of my identity. Recently, someone committed identity theft by opening a fraudulent bank account with XXXX XXXX in my name. A number of my personal bank accounts were also compromised and accessed without permission, and I have received notifications from XXXX that logins were attempted from cities and states I have never visited. I have also been informed that my personal information was included in various data leaks and breaches involving multiple reputable companies and credit bureaus. To top it off, my cell phones were compromised over the summer and I was unable to access my XXXX devices. I had to take all my devices to the store to get them factory reset, and I have been advised to change all my emails and avoid using the old ones. I have also been instructed by the police to apply for a new Social Security number. All of this has been extremely traumatic and overwhelming for me, and I am struggling to know where to even begin. Please make sure to take the necessary steps to remove all fraudulently created accounts from my credit reports, credit files, and consumer reporting files. I understand the importance of maintaining accurate and reliable credit information, and I am deeply concerned about the impact these fraudulent accounts may have on my creditworthiness. Therefore, I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter and removing these unauthorized accounts from my credit report. Enclosed with this letter, please find copies of any supporting documents that can further verify my claims. These include police reports, identity theft affidavits, and any other relevant documentation necessary to support my case. I believe that these documents will provide compelling evidence of the fraudulent nature of these accounts and demonstrate that I am a victim of identity theft. I kindly request that you immediately take the appropriate steps to remove all unauthorized accounts from my credit report. This fraudulent activity has caused me considerable distress and I genuinely hope that you can help restore my credit history and protect my financial integrity. I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. If there is any additional information or documentation required from my end to facilitate the investigation, please let me know, and I will promptly provide it to you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this challenging situation. I trust in your commitment to protecting consumer rights and ensuring the accuracy of credit reports. I eagerly await your response and a resolution to this matter.
