American Express Bank illegally and incorrectly reported a payment as late ( Specifically back in XXXX of XXXX ). As per the terms of the Cares Act, their representatives misadvised that I would only be eligible to receive any payment relief/assistance programs/offers if I showed signs of hardship ( Missed Payments ) despite my reaching out to them ahead of being late on any payments to let them know that financial hardship was on the horizon. Under the sanctions of the Cares Act, this is seen as misconduct, misinformation, and unethical behavior. Essentially, I was forced to be late on the payment without assistance. In XXXX, American Express provided a blanket response that not only avoided my question but also was a blatant attempt to circumvent my initial acquisition and issue.
