I mailed XXXX {$70000.00} personal checks to my friend in MA to do a favor and send them to the hospital for the deposit on my friends XXXX XXXX. This was XX/XX/23. She put the checks in her account expecting a 5 day hold. My {$140000.00} cleared my bank in Virginia on XX/XX/23 but they have never received the checks. Santander Bank XXXX MA has had a hold on my friends account with her pay checks and my XXXX {$70000.00} checks since they were deposited. Santander sent an email to my bank XXXX XXXX and told them for me to get my money they would have to file a fraud claim. My bank refused because they said I had done nothing fraudulent that my checks were fine because Santander had already cashed them. As of today my friends condition is worsening and they still refuse to give me my money they say it is under review. It has been almost for a month now. Please help me save my friend.
