My name is XXXX XXXX. I retired from the military at exactly the same time that the economy crashed back in 2009, and I literally lost everything. My house, separate land, my stock portfolio, all of it gone and I've been renting ever since. Also, my credit score has been subprime since then. It's like it wasn't enough for me to lose everything, I need to be constantly reminded by my poor credit score. I pay all my bills on time. Most of my utility bills are paid far in advance so that I have credit surpluses with those billers. I paid off every penny of my student loans. I pay my rent on time and have done so for the past 10 years. Spotless rental history, yet it does me no good. Do you see how unfair this credit system is to people who are not able to currently support a mortgage? I can't even get a mortgage because my credit score is so low. It's really, really frustrating and contacting the credit bureaus does no good. There is simply no mechanism to fix this issue, because technically they don't have to. I really don't know what else to do. I'm not usually supportive of government regulation, but in this case, something needs to be done about these credit bureaus that are spinning low scores to millions of Americans who do pay their bills on time. In the end, those low scores cost Americans millions due to higher interest they pay for any loans. Interest is already through the roof, please take some time to figure out a way to help me in this hopeless situation. This affects so many Americans, it should be a 'no-brainer '.
