Consumer Narrative
TransUnion has ignored, rejected, violated my rights according to the FCRA of me being a Victim of Identity Theft. To ignore my official documentation showing who committed the Identity Theft against me. TransUnion has ignored these Identity Theft accounts of XXXX XXXX and XXXX. TransUnion is violating the law and my rights on a daily basis. Dealing with an Identity Theft account I have been disputing for months. By TransUnion doing this to me, they are doing it to other consumers that rely on their credit, especially those that are Victim of Identity Theft. TransUnion has totally violated, ignored, and denied my legal dispute letters for months. Especially a consumer that is a Victim of Identity Theft. TransUnion has NOT followed Section 605B of the FCRA. I have followed Section 605B of the FCRA in supplying all documents needed to be in accordance and in compliance with Section 605B of the FCRA of Identity Theft. TransUnion has denied Section 605B of the FCRA. Here is a summary of the key provisions of Section 605B : 1. Blocking Information : If a consumer submits an identity theft report to a consumer reporting agency ( CRA ) stating that information on their credit report resulted from identity theft, the CRA must block that information from their credit report. This is aimed at preventing fraudulent or inaccurate information from harming the victim 's credit. 2. Duration of Block : The CRA must block the information within four business days after receiving the identity theft report. 3. Notice to Furnishers : Once the CRA has blocked the information, it must promptly notify the furnisher of the blocked information, which is typically the creditor or entity that provided the disputed information to the CRA. 4. Duties of Furnishers : The furnisher is then prohibited from reporting the blocked information to any other CRA without notice that the information is disputed and may be fraudulent. 5. Extension of Block : The block on information can be extended upon the consumer 's request or based on certain criteria. Section 605B is an important provision for victims of identity theft, as it allows them to take steps to prevent fraudulent accounts and information from damaging their credit reports. If you believe you are a victim of identity theft, it's important to follow the procedures outlined in the FCRA, including providing an identity theft report to the CRAs to block the fraudulent information.
