Consumer Narrative

Good Afternoon to whom this may concern I still have questions regarding my account. I was unaware of the status of my account until it showed up on my credit report as of the end of XXXX. I have spoken with several representatives and sent emails regarding these issues. I was told that Navient does not report good standing to the credit agency and that my status would be that way for the next 10 years. That is why I disputed with the agencies. I guess I was misses informed by my lawyer because I was told that this account was included in my bankruptcy and that they could be discharged because federal loans can be included in a person 's bankruptcy if the Judge agrees. I also was informed that Navient is not a federal agency so that's why my loans became due, but then I'm told that these are federal loans. If these are federal backed loans or federal loans, repayment did not go into effect for federal loans until XXXX so why was I hit with late payments? It also comes at a time when I'm trying to secure housing for myself and children, and everyone knows they use your credit score. ; due to these repeated past due charges I can not find housing. This is very devastating to myself and my family. I'm XXXX yrs old and to have to go live with a parent in a XXXX apartment with XXXX kids is totally embarrassing. In the past I have never been late with any of my student loans, and I feel this is very unjust. Navient has not reported anything to the credit agency regarding these student loans for years, then all of a sudden late and dropped my credit score XXXX points crushing my dreams and belief in the federal systems. Last question : How is it that if this is not a federal loan Navient can use the federal IDR for these loans. This all is not fair, and it is ruining my life. I've been told that Navient could remove the late payment status with a Goodwill letter. Is this possible in my case I have completed all forms needed for IDR and also looking to consolidate these loans, so this confusion doesn't happen again. Navient does not tell the truth 1 rep says these are not federal loans the next rep says these are federal so why doesn't the federal law apply.
