Dear CFPB, I am writing to make a complaint about several TransUnion violations. According to : 15 USC 6801 states ( a ) It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. All that is listed below is in violation of the above code : 1 ) XXXX account is in violation because it was originally opened in 2003. This account was charged off and taken to court. It has surpassed the 7 year limitation of reporting. According to 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. 2 ) There is a name ( XXXX ) associated with my credit profile that I have NEVER USED. There are discrepancies between my credit profile & my credit report. Please see attached docs. 3 ) There is a discrepancy with XXXX loan account for {$12000.00}. It is reporting open on my profile but not my report. Please see attached. 4 ) I am requesting that ALL inquires be removed immediately. Most of those compaines I do not recongize and I suspect idenity theft and fraud. 5 ) I am also requesting that the below accounts be removed : XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX ALL 4 of the DPT EDXXXX accounts The items on my credit report is causing me significant harm. It is making it difficult for me to obtain a loan and is preventing me from purchasing my first home at a lower interest rate. I am also concerned that this is damaging my reputation. I am reserving my rights to privacy and I have never gave written consent for my info to report to Transunion ( FCRA 15 USC 1691 Section 604 ( 2 ) In accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. ) Because of this, ALL of these items are in violation of 15 USC 1681c-2 ( a ) Except as otherwise provided in this section, a consumer reporting agency shall block the reporting of any information in the file of a consumer that the consumer identifies as information that resulted from an alleged identity theft, not later than 4 business days after the date of receipt by such agency of... I am requesting that the CFPB investigate this matter and help me get these items removed from TransUnion immediately. I have attached supporting documentation. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
