The business buried the payment options in the fine print of the welcome kit. If I would have seen that I could not make debit card payments towards the credit limit then I would have canceled it right there on the spot. If I had seen that they didnt accept debit card payments when I applied for the card, I wouldnt have applied for it. The settlement that they offered me is offensive. Its not even a settlement. The credit card was for a {$700.00} credit limit. The settlement offer was for {$740.00} and to also put a very small window limit on that which again cant be paid with a debit card is even more disrespectful and offensive. The false advertising and fraudulent business practices the company chooses to do has cost me two years of hard work to increase my credit score from very poor to good which is well over XXXX points in less than four months. Now they are sending me conflicting correspondence in the mail. One correspondence dated XX/XX/23 states that the account has been closed by me and I must continue making the required payments until it is paid in full. Whatever that even means but Im sure they kept it vague so that you they add more fees and continue to destroy my credit. They contracted with or created their own collections agency, XXXX XXXX, to continue their fraudulent business practices. And they dont accept debit card transactions either. The other correspondence is dated XX/XX/23 and its an account summary statement which states that I have a balance of {$920.00}. Thats {$220.00} more than the original credit limit with the outrageous fees theyve added. And it also states theyre going to add another {$41.00} to that amount if I dont give them {$220.00} by XX/XX/23. Theyve cost me so much more than what they claim I owe then! Two years of around XXXX points of credit score building has cost me close to {$20000.00}, if not more. This business has destroyed my credit! I even tried to negotiate a settlement in good faith to stop the onslaught to my credit. Theres not a decent business on earth that doesnt accept debit card transactions. The only ones that do not are the ones that like to slowly process money to rack up fees and hurt peoples hard earned credit scores to strong arm them into paying off their entire balance quickly so that their credit score doesnt get damaged anymore. This business is falsely advertising and their business practices are fraudulent. There are over XXXX pages worth of complaints filed against this business on XXXX that theyve done, similar if not the same things that theyve done and are continuing to do to me to countless other victims as well. Its not fair and its not right.
