Consumer Narrative

On or about XX/XX/XXXX, a fraudulent transaction from a Schools XXXX XXXX is initiated ( the account is my son in laws ). The quantity is XXXX. This money is sent through ( to ) the number XXXX ( my number ). Apparently, this number was ported over from XXXX XXXXXXXX, to XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I was not aware of this transaction and had no part of it or any subsequent transactions that may occur. We contacted zell on that same day and they were unable to provide any assistance, we contacted wells fargo and they were also unable to provide any assistance because they did not have the number registered. We also spoke to chase and we confirmed that the number was under their zell until the aforementioned date. Finally, we spoke to schools first and they informed me that we could rip the number back from wherever it was located and that would leave a history. That information confirmed it was being housed in wells fargo. That token history exists but the representative at schools first refused to provide me this information because it was internal. As the owner of this phone # and, being unaware to any zell registration to XXXX XXXX XXXX, it is my responsibility to get the information. The thing is, this information is vital to document and reach out to XXXX XXXXXXXX and demostrare to them the account activities did exist. It confuses be because XXXX XXXX owns XXXX through the early warning systems LLC. If you ask me it feels to the consumer that the ball is tossed from one court to the other and no one can give an answer. But the consumer looses the money. The banks seem to restrict information that is vital to following the money and the transactions. XXXX needs to stop washing their hands with ignorance and put a tighter lock on their transactions and be held responsible for the money they handle. They are essentially a transient bank and should have better consumer protection mechanisms like locking down transactions and a universal transaction number so that when a concerned consumer calls, they can immediately take action. Instead this partnering with other banks makes it so that they can only respond to the APP transactions but not the bank transactions. This methodology invites fraud and scams and makes it imposible for the consumer to be protected.
