Since XX/XX/23 I have been trying to access my account with EdFinancial who is managing my Federal student loan. I have made numerous attempts to enter my SS # and/or account number and birthdate which the system never recognizes. I have sent several emails and get pat responses telling me to register for a new account but in order to do that you have to enter your SS # and birthdate which they DO NOT recognize. The responding emails always say the same things directing me to begin again which is impossible because of not recognizing my info. We have also tried calling and the wait time is over 2 hours and when requesting a callback, either they never call back or the phone will ring 2 times and they hang up and you never get to speak to anyone. Meanwhile now I'm getting an email that I owe 2 payments and I have NO WAY to make these payments. Interest and late fees are probably accruing and I have no opportunity to correct this. I have every good intention to make payments on this loan but am unable to do so. I will not be responsible for late fees and interest that accrued beyond my control and inability to access my account in order to pay.
