I've been trying to dispute a collection in my Experian credit report, which should not appear in my report. The collection is for XXXX of XXXX XXXX, and the alleged debt occurred during the pandemic. I submitted XXXX claims, and every single time, they would state that the record was updated, but no changes to report were made. The claims are the following : Claim 1 : Report number : XXXX, Investigation ID 01, Date opened : XX/XX/2023 Claim 2 : Report number : XXXX, Investigation ID 01, Date opened : XX/XX/2023 Claim XXXX : Report number : XXXX, Investigation ID N/A, Date opened : XX/XX/2023 On the week of XX/XX/XXXX I sent a letter requesting the method of verification for the claims above. A claim was opened to address my method of verification request on XX/XX/XXXX. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I have not received any response on how they verified the validity of the item in my credit report. On XX/XX/2023, I received an email from Experian stating their verification process and that they will look at all relevant documents to make decision. That emails does not meet the requirements under FCRA 616. They are willfully non-complying to the letter of the law, and this is affecting my financial health and my opportunity to get loans with the interest that I deserve. I will sending them a letter on Monday XX/XX/XXXX, to request the item removed from my credit report or I will proceed with a lawsuit.
