My dispute is based on the fact that I have never received a legally required debt validation notice as required by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ) Section 809, 15 U.S.C. 1692g. The FDCPA mandates that within five days of the initial communication with a consumer regarding a debt, a debt collector must send a written notice that includes : The amount of the debt. The name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed. A statement that the consumer has 30 days to dispute the debt 's validity in writing.
