Consumer Narrative
I, XXXX XXXX ( maiden name Banks ) have been in forebearence with my mortgage with Veterans United since XX/XX/XXXX. I received documentation in XX/XX/XXXX from Veterans United that my forebearence was about to end and to complete required paperwork. I completed the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX to keep my home at the end of XX/XX/XXXX. I sent the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX certified ( USPS XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and it was received XX/XX/XXXX. I waited for my application to be processed and did not receive anything. I finally reached out via DM on XX/XX/XXXX and Veterans United replied on XX/XX/XXXX, that I could view the status of my modification online. I attempted to search for the status and it was nowhere the rep advised. I finally received a certified letter on XX/XX/XXXX and it was a demand letter stating that I must pay the amount of {$19000.00} in full by XX/XX/XXXX. I called and spoke with XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and she informed me that they are demanding the full amount because they never received a response back from the documentation that was sent in XXXX. I told her I in fact sent it back, certified! XXXX confirmed that the application was received and uploaded in their system on XX/XX/XXXX and was just never processed!! She advised I could re-fill out the app online to receive a quicker response. I had no clue as to why I would have to do the same form again as they had already had the form I sent. Per page 3 in the form, if you have a reduction of income or change in income, no documentation is required. They never requested anything from me at all. I never received a decision at all as well, so how can they demand the arrears? This is clearly a violation. I was not informed of this being a violation as XXXX requested that I just complete the application again. No fault was admitted at all.
