On XX/XX/XXXX, I disputed this credit card issued by Genesis FS Card Services. It was opened fraudulently in my maiden name, which has not been my name since XXXX. According to the company, the card was issued around XXXX of XXXX and the charges all take place at XXXX XXXX and XXXX in Michigan. I live and have always lived in Washington State. I have never been to Michigan. I have spent over 8 hours in total on the phone with this company. My first phone call to the company placed on XX/XX/XXXX resulted in the agent refusing to transfer me to their fraud department and instead advising me to file a dispute through XXXX, which I immediately did. Approximately one week later, I received an email stating that the dispute investigation had concluded and the information was found to be accurate. I filed a second dispute with XXXX, filed a report with the FTC, filed a report with the Attorney General of Washington, a police report with XXXX Police Department and again called the company only to spend hours on the phone. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter requesting a copy of the report I filed with the FTC within XXXX calendar days. I immediately faxed a copy of the report, as the credit card company states that is the only way to submit such documents. I called the company shortly after to ensure the fax had been received only to be told they will take 5-7 business days to process the document that I sent. Trouble is, this would put me past their 20 day deadline. XXXX stated on XXXX that my dispute had been closed by the credit issuer, which doesnt make any sense at all. I have been hung up on twice today alone. This company and its agents are criminal. I encourage everyone to record their conversations and take excellent notes whilst communicating with this criminal company.
