On XX/XX/, I tried to dispute a credit card balance on Transunion 's website and it kept giving me an error. Then I tried to pull my free credit report, and again, Transunion 's site indicated an error, that I was unable to get my free credit report. So I called, and the agent said I could not get my score without paying {$9.00} and to get my report, I would have to be transferred to their " technical '' department. Doesn't the CFPB, the administration, and government agencies at-large see a huge conflict of interest with letting these credit bureaus, all three and maybe the fourth, compelled to provide the American people with the information they SELL to private industry - and also sell all their product lines along with it? The identify theft protection, the credit monitoring, the fraud prevention- they're selling Americans all their bells and whistles and conveniently not able to provide us with our own information for free as agreed. Who is looking out for us? These bureaus are for-profit entities and our consumer protections against their quite often wrong information, black box algorithms for scoring, and suite of tools designed to make Americans pay for their information they're entitled to review and dispute- is eroding quickly. Who is watching out for us on XXXX XXXX?
