My complaint concerns a check sent to me by the United States Treasury, which was intercepted during transfer, stolen, and cashed fraudulently. The check was deposited to an account at the Navy Federal Credit Union by a person other than myself and who did not have my authorization to do so. I do not have an account at the Navy Federal Credit Union, so their agent recommended that I contact CFPB for assistance. I have attached photocopies of the front and back of the check that was cashed fraudulently.. The back of the check contains account numbers and additional information that should be sufficient to identify the responsible party. This information should reported to the appropriate authorities. Please note : In the event that CFBP is not the appropriate agency to pursue a claim of fraud as described above, please either forward my complaint to the appropriate Federal agency or kindly provide information that will enable me to follow up.
