Each of the three credit reporting bureaus are allowing written off accounts to be reported as delinquent each month when it is my understanding that as these accounts have been written off, the creditor stops its collection efforts, declares the debt uncollectible, and reports it to the IRS as lost income to reduce its tax burden, as such I do not think this is acceptable practice to allow negative monthly reporting on my consumer credit reports. I have made attempts to contact creditors who were unwilling to disclose account details and/or unable to arrange for payment on the debts, referring me to their legal counsel.
