I incurred a medical expense in XX/XX/2023. The bill was paid in full on XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/XXXX, the payment was returned to my bank ( XXXX ) without any explanation. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the billing office in response to a XXXX bill that I received. The billing office confirmed that they had returned the payment and said that their back office was reviewing, and I should disregard the new bill and wait to hear further. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a second bill for the same amount and paid it in full again on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a third bill for the same amount as the two previous bills. I contacted the billing office in writing giving the details of the XX/XX/XXXX payment and asked them to advise on the new bill. No response has ever been received. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called the billing office again. My bank sent proof of the payment ; the medical facility said that the payment was found in their system but said it had not been cashed. I was advised to allow additional time for you to process the payment. On XX/XX/XXXX, the second payment was returned to my bank with no explanation. The medical billing office did not contact me in any way, so I didnt realize this until I saw it in my bank account earlier this week. I immediately paid the bill in full for a third time. Yesterday, I received a notice that this bill had been turned over to a collection agency.
