I used Experian to freeze my credit report due to a issue with someone requesting a card in my name. I also froze my account with the other 2 credit bureaus. I did not request or sign up for any additional services, but to the best of my ability followed directions to freeze my report. I did not give them a credit card number. I did give them my phone number from which I guess they retrieved, without my permission of knowledge one of my credit cards that was registered for XXXX. the charges to my XXXX XXXX referenced XXXX. The first charge appeard on XX/XX/XXXX and continued monthly till XX/XX/XXXX. When I discovered the charges, for which I had no memory of agreeing to or signing up for, I called as was ( after a lengthy call tree wait ) that they would do me a favor and refund the current month amount and cancel my membership. They would not refund prior months and told me to dispute them on the XXXX site, which I did today. Clearly Experian is taking advantage of people requesting to freeze their account by using the word lock to charge for a subscription. They are disreputable and dishonest. Please investigate their website for their trapping people into their subscription service. Thank you
