I bought a Vanilla gift card XX/XX/XXXX at around XXXX XXXX from circle k. I tried to activate it and i couldnt. I contacted the company and waited on hold for 20 minutes, they activated it right away. the following day i attempted to use the card. I couldnt. I then tried to use it at a different merchant and then in person. The card was declined. I did this several times to make sure it was the merchant and then yesterday XX/XX/XXXX I called the company. I waited on hold for an hour and was told it was locked for suspicious activity. The man ask me to verify my attempted transaction. i did. he then said they needed to open an investigation. it would take 10 bussiness days and i needed to send the reciept, a form of proof of residency and a copy of my id. I told him no, I am not doing that, let me speak to a supervisor. He then out me hold where no one ever came. at about 2 hours on hold I hung up. I then called again this morning XX/XX/XXXX and spoke to a rep, went through the same thing and finally got a supervisor. i listed every single merchant I attempted to use but one i couldnt remember. she then told me the same thing. This is not the first time and i have spent over 4 hours dealing with this, being embarressed and upset. I only put XXXX dallors on this card and regerstered it online. This is rediculous!
