Consumer Narrative

XXXX of this year I made an agreement with Alltran financial regarding one of my accounts. I made a one time lump sum payment to close the account and I have been continuing to make monthly payments on the other account. I just received a collection letter from XXXX XXXX solutions trying to collect on the account that I settled with Alltran in XXXX of this year. Not only did they lie to me on this account being closed but they sold it to another collection company. I'm a little confused. If a person honestly tries to make right debts they owe, is their no responsibility on the collectors side to be honest?
