We purchased a condo in XXXX XXXX, fl. Closed on XX/XX/XXXX. We received a letter a month after closing saying we needed flood insurance from the mortgage company. We are on the 3rd. Floor, the condo association provides flood insurance. We provided the mortgage company with the documents from the condo association. They are still stating we need flood insurance. No one else in the condo has flood insurance. The mortgage company proceeded to put us in collections and opened an insurance policy for {$3600.00} for flood insurance and opened an escrow account. We have contacted the mortgage company several times and they are still saying we need this insurance. Our broker said they should have never let us close if this was an issue. ThankYou.
