Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from FNBO stating they were decreasing my credit limit from {$10000.00} to & XXXX due to credit bureau XXXX reporting. I had missed some payments but had not made active purchases since I knew I was struggling to make the payments every month. All payments I did make, however, were on time and for more than the required amount due. Once I received the letter on XX/XX/XXXX, I made a very serious attempt to get my account up to date, making good progress towards the balance and getting my credit score up to buy my first house. XX/XX/XXXX made a payment of {$1000.00}, XX/XX/XXXX made a payment of {$1000.00}, XX/XX/XXXX made a payment of {$1000.00} and XX/XX/XXXX I made a payment of {$2000.00}. Upon checking my credit score today as I am working with the bank on a mortgage loan, I find out only through the credit reporting agency that FNBO had again decreased my credit limit, this time from {$9400.00} to {$5300.00} taking my credit score way down. Now I will be over my credit limit. I spoke to XXXX at FNBO XX/XX/XXXX and she could not help, they get notified from the credit agency, plug in the info, without taking anything into consideration, for example that I paid {$4000.00} in the month of XXXX trying to get this down, then asked and spoke to her supervisor XXXX who also said there was nothing she could do about it as she is not part of the " decrease '' department, whatever that means? This really hurt me in my attempt to purchase a home for my family and I can find any help to reverse what FNBO has done to my credit.
