I have a son who is currently XXXX years of age. I was divorced in AZ and finished paying child support 16 years ago. It was actually never in collections. My ex-wife opened a case in NY because NY law states that a father can pay child support until a child is XXXX, so the court put a temporary judgment against me until a hearing. My divorce decree was upheld and the case was dismissed. I have given backup documentation to all 3 credit bureaus and it remains on my credit reports. They have not taken it off my reports.
