My mortgage closed on XX/XX/XXXX and subsequently sold to Amerihome. Because it was a newly built home, taxes were not yet determined so the initial escrow payments were higher than they should have been. I understood this and accepted the higher escrow payments, knowing I would be getting any overpayments back. In XXXX XXXX, an escrow analysis was completed and a refund over {$3000.00} was received. On XX/XX/XXXX, my escrow was again over funded by over {$4000.00} so I contacted Amerihome via email to request an analysis as per their instructions. At that point, all bills for the year had been received so all payments were known. Amerihome responded, telling me that I had to hand write a letter requesting an escrow analysis and provide all documentation. They had the documentation in their system and it made no sense as to why a hand written letter was required, other than to give me the run around. When I explained that under the law, they were required to perform and analysis, the response was that it is their policy to require a hand written letter before performing an escrow analysis. I am asking for assistance for the quick return of my excess escrow balance and an escrow analysis to be performed in order to align my payments to my actual bills. My mortgage payments have always been on time and my account is up to date. Thank you!
