Consumer Narrative

I purchased a new XXXX XXXX from a XXXX dealership in XXXX XXXX in XXXX. All payments were made on time. I moved to XXXX tx from XXXX Tx in XX/XX/XXXX and advised XXXX of the address change. I continued to received mailed bills at that address until XX/XX/XXXX at which time the bills stopped. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX phoned my son who is also listed on the account, advising him the vehicle was subject to repossession. I immediately that day paid the full XXXX payments owed, late fees, and a service fee. I have tried to get the late fees waived which they say they have done. They advised they can not waive the {$3.00} service fee. They advised they have had and continue to have my current address ( XXXX tx ) and can not advise why the paper statements were stopped. They also can not advise why were not contacted when a payment was missed. On XX/XX/XXXX i sent a check to payoff the loan completely. I used the amount their system quoted me on XX/XX/XXXX which is good until XX/XX/XXXX. I expect they will ask for more. I believe XXXX did this deliberately in a fraudulent attempt to repossess the vehicle as it neared payoff. They gave no notice, and had my address for over 18 months, including every check for those payments with my current address. This seems very similar to the case in which CFPB fined XXXX $ XXXX for fraudulent repossession activities. All I want is my fees waived, my title free and clear, and the credit histories of me, my wife, and my son removed of al negative comments and those histories to reflect payment in full on time and ahead of schedule. On XX/XX/XXXX I mailed a letter to them requesting this as mail is the only method to contact their credit bureau XXXX department. I also want them to stop this practice As I believe it is a deliberate attempt to repossess vehicles from unsuspecting persons.
