In XXXX, I took out private " education '' loans that were sent directly to me, did not involve my school, and were for amounts that exceeded the cost of attendance. I was a single parent working my way through school and was ignorant to the predatory nature of these loans. Somewhere along the line, the loans were sold to XXXX. XXXX initiated a lawsuit after I was unable to work out a reasonable payment plan with them. I filed for XXXX XXXX bankruptcy in XXXX in order to stop the lawsuit. I had a successful XXXX XXXXXXXX discharge 5 years later. My lawyer informed me that XXXX had 30 days post-discharge to initiate a new lawsuit, but they did not. Several months later, XXXX began calling me again. They somehow found my place of work and harassed the office manager at my job. My lawyer told me that XXXX could attempt to collect from me, but not harass my place of employment, and they could not sue me as they lost that ability. I spoke with someone at XXXX and they yelled at me and made derogatory remarks about my character. My lawyer sent them a cease and desist letter along with the bankruptcy court laws stating that they no longer had the right to sue. XXXX reported the unpaid loan amount to the credit bureaus which seriously damaged my credit that I was in the midst of repairing. Several months ago, I began getting phone calls from Weltman, Weinberg, and Reis Co. XXXX sold the debt to this collector. The statute of limitations has long run out and I am still being harassed. I am on the verge of filing XXXX XXXX bankruptcy now in order to make this finally go away. I don't know what else to do.
